Facilities Department

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to provide a level of maintenance that allows facilities of the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas to be used productively, safely, comfortably and economically; to reduce component failures and service interruptions by increasing planned or preventive measures thereby reducing unplanned or crisis maintenance; to ensure a high level of protection for occupant safety and health; and to provide prompt response, quality service, and efficient resolution of maintenance problems.

Department Functions:

The Facilities Department provides physical support and maintenance services to multiple facilities belonging to the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas. Among other responsibilities, department staff ensures building safety and optimal performance of building’s systems by providing preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs, HVAC, electrical and plumbing services, building security systems and interior and exterior renovations. 

Services Provided:

  • Operation, service, repair and maintenance of building HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems and controls.
  • Condition Assessment of Kickapoo Traditional Tribe buildings, identifying repairs needed, coordinating consultants and contractors and monitoring work.
  • Maintenance, repair and minor renovation of interior walls, doors, ceilings, cabinets and equipment.
  • Maintenance of exterior walls, roofs, windows and doors.
  • Support of KTTT Staff in fulfilling service requests for work area needs.

EVS/Janitorial Mission Statement:

Our mission is to maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment in an efficient and professional manner to ensure building safety and comfort within the Tribal buildings.

The Maintenance Department is committed to maintaining the buildings and its exterior grounds in a safe and attractive condition. Maintenance provides a continuous program of repair, replacement, installation and modification to the sites.

Department Functions

  • Provide a safe, clean and well maintained interior environment of all the departments.
  • Provide a safe, well maintained, visually pleasing exterior grounds and landscaping.
  • Repair and restructure any damages.
  • Renovate and paint offices.
  • Strip, wax and buff floors as well as shampooing and vacuuming of carpets.
  • Assemble furniture.
  • Setup for events within the departments and also provide tables and chairs for weekend events held at the wellness center.
  • Cleaning supplies, coffee supplies and gatorade are kept in inventory and distributed within the departments.

Goal and Objectives

  • The primary objective of the EVS/Janitorial Department is to oversee that work is done efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • To follow procedures and guidelines to prevent any accidents in the workplace.

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to provide the highest standard and cost effective services to the Kickapoo Tribal community and visitors and to help facilitate economic growth and constructive change in the organization’s best interest.

Department Functions

The Department is responsible for providing a variety of services to the Kickapoo Tribe. The main purpose is to administer and manage the construction, operation and maintenance of the Tribe’s infrastructure including roads, small-scale construction activities and the over-site of various construction projects to meet the existing and future needs of the Tribal Council and Community.

The Mission of the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas Road & Bridge Department is to efficiently and effectively maintain the Tribe’s roadway system to provide a safe and pleasing travel environment for the public, our residents, and employees.
The KTTT Road & Bridge Department is committed to providing our community with beneficial, essential, public services in a professional, courteous, and fiscally responsible manner. We are liable to operate as a team to provide safe and reliable transportation solutions for tribal streets, bridges, and right-of-ways.

Department Functions

• Provide a safe, clean and well-maintained roadway system.
• Repair and restructure any road damages.
• Replace or refurbish damaged traffic signs.
• Provide a safe, well maintained, visually pleasing exterior grounds and landscaping by performing enduring vegetation operations daily.

SPOFFORD RANCH

Mission Statement:

Conserving Tribal owned properties, and water supply for which all wild life depends on.

Goals:

• Homesteading the property will be the foundation for property development and will be accomplished by the addition of two modular homes for residential and administrative use.

•  The existing entrance roadway that is shared with surrounding neighbors will be repaved with onsite natural materials.

 

Property Description:

Spofford Ranch consists of approximately 10,000 acres of open range and is located 1.6 miles south of Spofford, Texas. Currently the ranch consists of mainly horses, cattle, hogs, fish, deer, coyote and occasional bobcat sightings. Water is supplied by one solar powered well, four run-off tanks and several natural lakes that sustain and nurture wildlife growth.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote and keep a clean environment for better health and safety of the Kickapoo Traditional of Texas, Tribal Members, Employees and visitors.

KEPA is committed to maintain a safe and healthy environment to all tribal members, employees and visitors.

Department Functions

• Provide a safe and healthy environment to tribal members and non tribal
• Provide Educational Material to tribal adults, youth and children
• Do Environment Activities with tribal adults, youth and children
• Comply with Safe Drinking Water Act by doing water analysis on free and total chlorine, bacteria, lead and cooper, disinfection by products (DBP’S) ph and temperature
• Comply with the General Assistance Program (GAP) in accordance with the Quality Management Plan (QMP) and with the Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP)
• Recycling Program. We recycle cardboard, plastic, and paper. All of these recycling items are taken to the cities recycling center
• We recycle used tires and deliver them to the Maverick County landfill to be recycled.
• Recycle used oil and used filters.
• Properly dispose hazardous materials in accordance with EPA and OSHA standards
• Pest Control. Provide fumigation services to tribal homes and tribal buildings
• Vector Control. To limit or eradicate the thread of diseases such as Zika Virus, West Nile Virus, Dengue Fever and Chikungunya
• Large Animal Control. Stray dogs/cats control and disposal of dead animals
• Environmental Monitoring. Monitor tribal lands for unsafe, unhealthy and hazardous situations.
