Position:                              Special Education Teacher Aide

Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting the Teacher in the planning and implementation of the classroom program.  This includes but is not limited to assisting children with self-care activities, indoor and outdoor learning activities, meal or snack time activities, and student transportation duties.

Competency to provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions, plan and implement learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation and use of assessment and promote children’s progress across the standards described in the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages Birth to Five and applicable state early learning and development standards, including for children with disabilities and dual language learners, as appropriate.

Education/experience requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: At least a child development associate credential; or An associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education or related field. or  a minimum of two years experience working with children with special needs 

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts Degree is in Early Childhood Education or related field. The employee must possess an active Child Development Associate (CDA) credential With a minimum of two years experience working with children
