Position: Maintenance Worker
Supervisor: Maintenance Supervisor
Division: Tribal Reservation Services Administration
Department: Tribal Maintenance
Responsibilities:
Keep building in a clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as operating motor-driven cleaning equipment, mopping floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include, performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs and additions and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalk.
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Reports to the maintenance supervisor.
- Sweep, mop, scrub and vacuum floors of buildings, using cleaning solutions, tools and equipment.
- Clean or polish walls, ceilings, windows, plant equipment and building fixtures, using steam cleaning equipment, scrapers, brooms and variety of hand and power tools.
- Apply waxes or sealers to wood or concrete floors.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines and equipment.
- Service and repair cleaning and maintenance equipment and machinery
- Clean building interiors damaged by fire, smoke or water, using commercial cleaning equipment.
- Perform such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.
Education/experience requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: One to three years of experience of basic cleaning in and around office and residential buildings.
Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or graduation equivalent diploma (GED).
