Position: PRC Clerk I
Supervisor: PRC Manager

Responsibilities:
PRC Clerk I is responsible for performing a variety of entry level accounting and clerical duties requiring knowledge of basic accounting for the PRC Program of the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas. They will assure the timely payment of vendor invoices, prepay medical travel, and maintain accurate records.
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Assist in preparing travel assistance request for tribal member, completes the balancing process for all advance travel assistance payment with receipts from tribal member.
- Completes payments and controls claims by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling purchase orders with claims.
- Obtaining referrals and pre-authorization to qualify medial bill for payment.
- Checking eligibility and benefits verification for payment of patient’s medical bills.
- Answering all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to medical payments.
- Will work closely with the KTTT Accounting department.
- Updating and creating medical spreadsheets, and various report.
- Communicates with medical vendors regarding the invoices (claims) received to dispute issues.
- Assists with PRC staff when needed.
- Inputs data into various computer program software.
- Assists with Data Entry Clerk with preparing, reviewing and maintaining provider billing documents. Prepares check request as per accounting guidelines and inputs information into the medical bill file, Accounts Payable system (MIP program) for the preparation of payments to the providers.
- Help in verifying all medical invoices in the MIP system for duplication of payment.
- Assist with Prepaid travel assistance and Cash Receipt reconciliation.
- Assist creating monthly reports for outstanding Prepaid travel assistance.
- Will help with processing medical reimbursements.
- Perform other work-related duties assigned by immediate supervisor.
Education/experience requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:2 years related office experience in healthcare or office setting.
A combination of experience, education, and training may substitute for degree requirements on a year for year basis.
