Responsibilities
Coordinate, execute, maintain, repair and install all types of plumbing equipment, domestic water systems, sewer systems, and related devices. Perform preventative maintenance (PM) programs, inspections and repairs; respond to emergency plumbing calls and maintain repair all-natural gas services including valves.
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following:

- Performs all functions in accordance with applicable Tribal, Federal and other laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Install new plumbing fixtures including, but not limited to, sinks, commodes, urinals, faucets, drinking fountains, garbage disposals, domestic water heaters and related devices.
- Coordinate, troubleshoot, repair, inspect and maintain plumbing equipment including, but not limited to, faucets, lavatories, toilets, flush valves, sinks, water heaters, drinking fountains, domestic water heaters and boilers, garbage disposals, backflow devices, valves and water meters.
- Reviews building plans and specifications to determine the layouts for plumbing and related materials.
- Identifies required tools and special equipment and follows all safety rules.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains underground storm sanitary, water-piping systems, sinks, tubs, toilets, water heaters, plumbing fixtures, appliances and trim.
- Tests pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
- Works in cooperation with other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications and policies are met, and to ensure efficient completion of any project.
- Provides adequate services and will ensure that all water supply networks and waste and drainage systems are installed, repaired and maintained to meet all standards of building codes and safety.
- Attends, and satisfactorily completes all required training as assigned and required.
- Manages and maintains security of confidential information entrusted to position.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs in district facilities including, but not limited to, domestic water systems, related devices, and sanitary waste drainage.
- Cut, thread, or hammer pipes to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, or pipe benders.
- Lay out full-scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, or related equipment, according to blueprints.
- Inspect, examine, or test installed systems or pipelines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
- Attach pipes to walls, structures, or fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment.

- Knowledge of apprentice level plumbing skills to include the use of all relative tools, equipment and understanding of technical drawings.
- Knowledge of materials required to complete projects.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
- Required to perform multiple, non-technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactory perform the functions of the job include operating equipment used in skilled trades, power and hand tools, etc.; adhering to safety practices; handling hazardous materials.

Education/experience requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
High school or graduation equivalent diploma (GED) or equivalent vocational school or short-term courses resulting in Plumber’s Apprentice License.
Three to five (3-5) years of skilled or semi-skilled experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master Plumbers License. Thorough knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations. Ability to read blue prints.

Special certification required:
Texas journeyman plumber license.
