Responsibilities: 

Responsible for driving program applicants to medical services, detox, inpatient rehab or mental health facilities as needed. Also, drives and performs errands for program administration as needed.  May be responsible for long-distance driving as needed.

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following: 

• Must be able to safely operate a program vehicle and follow traffic safety rules.
• Must be on call 24/7 for transporting Tribal members to rehabilitation center or any other unexpected emergencies.
• Maintain calendar/appointment schedule to accommodate resident and program needs.
• Maintain the program vehicles in clean condition and inspects daily
• Coordinate resident trips for efficient use of time and gasoline consumption.
• Check with staff for proper documentation of appointments and insure that appointment slips, prescriptions, or other documents are in hand prior to departure.
• Coordinate with other drivers if a second driver is needed to insure a driver never drives alone with a resident of the opposite sex.
• Schedule maintenance of the program’s vehicles for oil change (every 3000 miles), tire pressure, rotation and balancing, tune ups, cooling system check, and other maintenance as described in the owner’s manual.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Education/experience requirements: 

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma, GED or Bachelor Degree.

Must be 21 years of age or older. Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol test. Clean driving record. Minimum of one year of driving experience. 

Preferred Qualifications: Previous work-related experience is preferred.
