Job Description
Position: Inventory Clerk
Supervisor: Maintenance Supervisor/Housing Director
Division: Tribal Reservation Services Administration
Department: Housing
Responsibilities
Responsible for the inventory of all supplies that come in and leave the department’s shop. Must track all material and supplies that enter and exit the establishment. Carries out organizational and recording responsibilities in order to avoid loss of inventory and to prevent delays in work order completion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- Maintain an update records on type, amount, and value of material/ supplies in stock.
- Count available materials, or supplies and post totals to inventory records manually or using a computer.
- Receive and inventory stock.
- Compare inventories with what is on office records.
- Compile information on disbursement of material/ supplies.
- Verify computer data with physical count of stock and adjust errors, if any.
- Investigate and report reasons for discrepancies, if any.
- Prepare reports on inventory balance, and shortages.
- Compute figures from records, such as purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.
- Perform such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or graduation equivalent diploma (GED); work experience will be considered in lieu of education.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous work-related experience is preferred.
