Responsibilities 

Instruct or coach groups or individuals in exercise activities. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

• Ensure Center rules, safety standards, and sanitation requirements are followed, Assists in implementation of Emergency Action Plan.
• Instruct patrons in the proper use of exercise machines and cardiovascular equipment; perform group exercises (aerobic and nonaerobic).
• Develop safe professional comprehensive personal training programs.
• Ensure clients are satisfied with their workout programs.
• Perform routine daily maintenance tasks such as cleaning equipment and minor repairs on equipment.
• Document and report all accidents and incidents in the fitness room.
• Aid patrons in daily operation of equipment and answer questions concerning operation of equipment.
• Document and report all equipment malfunctions and safety hazards to Fitness Director.
• Schedule orientations for patrons.
• Conduct group exercise classes.
• Conduct body composition analysis for patrons.
• Conduct fitness workshops as needed.
• Perform such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

Minimum Qualifications: Must possess and maintain CPR certification. Accreditation in the fitness field. A minimum of one-year experience as a fitness trainer. Operation of fitness equipment; or any combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. High school diploma or graduation equivalent diploma (GED). 

Preferred Qualifications: Previous work related experience is preferred.
