Position: Facilities Electrician
Supervisor: Maintenance Manager or Supervisor
Division: Tribal Reservation Services Administration
Department: Facilities Department
Responsibilities:
The Facilities Electrician is responsible for performing skilled electrical work related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems within commercial buildings and infrastructure. This role involves working under a wide range of environmental conditions, including inclement weather, fluctuating outdoor temperatures, elevated workspaces, potential electrical hazards, and confined areas.
Duties include the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of AC/DC electrical wiring systems, fixtures, and related equipment throughout KTTT-operated buildings and grounds. The Facilities Electrician may also be assigned additional tasks by their immediate supervisor, as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
An individual must be able to successfully perform each the essential functions of this position listed below with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Diagnose the cause of all electrical problems and failures and report on possible solutions.
- Inspect electrical systems and all components such as lighting, alarms, and electrical panels, identifying any necessary repairs and recommending repairs or preventive maintenance.
- Install electrical systems or components such as lighting, alarms, electrical panels, switches, circuits, timers or signage.
- Maintain assigned equipment and tools for availability and safe operating conditions.
- Repair electrical components and systems such as motors, circuits, transformers, generators, compressors, intercom systems, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Perform such other tasks and duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
Education/experience requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or graduation equivalent (GED).
At least 5 years of experience in commercial electrical work (new construction, remodels, service, etc.) Familiarity with conduit bending wiring, lighting, switchgear, and panel installation.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of a state-approved electrical apprenticeship program. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings.
