Position:                  Community Outreach Coordinator

Responsibilities:

The Community Outreach Coordinator will provide vital support to the programmatic and administrative functions of the Adolescent Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) program. This individual will assist in the coordination of prevention activities, community outreach, educational workshops, and youth engagement efforts under the guidance of the Program Coordinator. The Community Outreach Coordinator serves as a liaison between the program, youth participants, families, and the broader community, helping ensure efficient and culturally responsive service delivery. 

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist in the planning, scheduling, and execution of youth prevention activities, including workshops, school-based presentations, after-school programs, and parent education sessions
  • Provide clerical and logistical support such as data entry, attendance tracking, filing, supply inventory, and transportation coordination
  • Support community engagement strategies by distributing educational materials, staffing outreach events, and maintaining strong communication with stakeholders
  • Aid in the creation of culturally appropriate materials targeting substance abuse risk factors among youth
  • Monitor youth participation and report non-attendance or concerning behaviors to program leadership
  • Coordinate with schools, community organizations, and parents to facilitate early intervention services
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies, especially when handling participant information
  • Participate in regular staff trainings and contribute to program quality improvement efforts
  • Provide immediate documentation (e.g., incident reports) following any behavioral, safety, or health-related events involving youth participants
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

Education/experience requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic understanding of adolescent development and risk factors associated with substance use.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working in youth services, behavioral health, substance abuse prevention, or educational outreach.
