Responsibilities: 

Provides clerical and administrative support services to the Tribal Administration Office. Answers and relays all incoming calls; greets and directs incoming visitors in a courteous manner and sorts and distributes mail. Ensures efficient and professional processing of all assigned responsibilities. Work contacts include administrators, staff and the public. Must be able to use independent judgment as it pertains to administrative functions. 

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following: 

  • This role follows a regular business schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, the position requires availability to work on-site during standard office hours.
  • Employee must maintain confidentiality, security and integrity of information according to privacy regulations, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Performs clerical and secretarial duties, including sending out mailings, memoranda, letters, reports, time schedules, travel forms, manual policies and procedures, etc.
  • Prepares, reviews, and files necessary documents. Prepares check requests as per accounting guidelines and inputs accounting log.
  • Promptly answer all incoming calls with proper telephone etiquette: must sound professional, credible, pleasant and sincere.
  • Supply information to callers, records messages, keep record of calls placed, people contacted and documents requiring Tribal Administration signature.
  • Perform clerical duties such as typing, proofreading and sorting of mail.
  • Greet incoming visitors and notify of their arrival; receive incoming packages and deliveries.
  • Perform such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.

Education/experience requirements: 

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or graduation equivalent diploma (GED)

A combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities to perform position requirement. An example of this would be at least one year (1) clerical experience. 

Preferred Qualifications: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Previous experience supporting C-level executives or finance professionals is a plus.
